Parenting in a Digital World: Youth, Technology, Social Media, AI & Mental Health

Ryan Klingensmith, LPC, NCC

Today’s kids are growing up in a digital world that is changing faster than most adults can keep up with. This 90-minute, adult-only virtual training helps parents better understand how social media, smartphones, AI tools, chatbots, deepfakes, and online trends are shaping youth behavior, safety, identity, and mental health.

Led by licensed counselor and Shape the Sky founder Ryan Klingensmith, this training gives parents practical, real-world guidance on what to watch for, how to start better conversations, and how to set healthier expectations around technology at home. The goal is simple: help adults connect their wisdom with the digital knowledge kids need to be safe, responsible, and healthy online.
